The artist has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which works to save the Britain's grassroots music venues.

The star was given the prize on mid-October as his third album the album was chosen as the best record of the last 12 months.

He has opted to hand the money over to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the vital role small stages fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I wouldn't be doing this success if it hadn't been for all the shows I played around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," stated Sam Fender. "These locations are legendary, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these locations have shut down – about 16% of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its attempts to help venues survive, by adding a modest fee to their ticket costs, which supports independent venues.

He also participated, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight grassroots venues across the UK.

The donation helped venues that were facing possible closure due to difficulties arising from water damage, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, court cases and sound issues.

Some locations were granted financial assistance in modernizing infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that helped artists and fans.

"The concept that revenue from concerts in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it begins for performers like me, is just common sense," the star has stated.

The musician is far from the only musician to donate his honor prize money to good deeds.

Back when they won the award in 1996 for their release Different Class, lead singer Jarvis Cocker announced that the band would donate their winnings to the charity War Child.

That year, musician Ms Dynamite split her bounty among a few charities, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," she explained to outlets.

In recent years, they gave their winnings to the youth organization that nurtured their act, as well as other independent music bodies.

Additionally the 1994 recipients the group contributed their prize to a MS organization after a close contact was diagnosed the illness.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated vocalist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the cake. So our winning affected the lives of others."

Last week, the MVT shared it had saved two grassroots venues in south-east England, by bringing them into local control.

The first in that area and The Croft in the city were purchased under the public acquisition initiative, which is backed by Arts Council England and supporters who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
